From James Discharge Papers James a groundsman of 50 Cobden St Woolton James enlisted 20th February 1917in the Kings Liverpool Regiment and James has grey hair and grey eyes and is just under 5′ 10″ tall. and serial number 66459 .Changed his unit to 73 Lab Coy, Labour Corps on the 14th May 1917. new service number 43255. James was declared physically unfit on 4th January 1918 he had been infected with TB and Discharged on the 21st January 1918
James Mainwaring at living at 28 Gladstone St Woolton died 5th January 1919 and buried 9th January 1919 at St Peters Church and his grave has a Commonwealth War Graves Headstone on it.
