According to the Commonwealth war Graves Trooper (Private) Edward Southern. Son of Thomas and Annie Southern, Husband of Rebecca Southern living at 55 Cobden St Woolton.
From the Garston and Woolton Newspaper June 2nd 1916 Trooper Edward Southern went through the African Campaign and when WW1 broke out Edward was called up and went to France with Expeditionary Force. Edward was wounded at Mons , He was invalided home , Edward recovered and returned to France in September , Edward was gassed in France as result was sent to a hospital in London where he died.
Trooper Edward Southern serial number R/4736 and served 19th Queens Alexander Own Royal Hussars. Died 15th February 1916 aged 36
Trooper Edward Southern was buried with Full military Honours and is Remembered with Honour Kelsal Green Cemetery
