Edward educated at St Peters C of E School Woolton . Enlisted October 1899 and served in the South African War 1899-1902 . ( Received the Queens medal with 2 clasps) After discharge joined the Reserve 1904 , Called up in 5th August 1914. Edward was wounded during the retreat from Mons. Edward was invalided home. Returned to the front October 1915. Edward died 15th February 1916 in Endell St Military Hospital Covent Garden London as a result of being gassed
