Charles Ashley

Private Charles Ashley  born 2nd May 1891 and baptized 2nd August 1891. Father William a coachman and mother Ada (nee Evans) at St Peters Church Woolton.

On 1911 census Charles age born Allerton age 20 occupation  a butcher. He lived with father William and mother Ada brothers, Frank age 17 a stableman and George age 9. Family living Chapel Place Woolton.

Soldiers effects to father  William.

Brother Robert also died WW1 , 5th August 1918

He served with the 2nd Battalion, Manchester Regiment, and serial number 2051. He was killed in action on April 8, 1915 in Flanders, France, aged 24
